Cable Tension Meters

Cell Tower Guy Wires, Utility Stays, Highway Guardrails & Zip Lines (Up to 10,000 lb / 45 kN):

Guyed telecommunications towers, overhead utility lines, roadside barrier cables, and adventure park zip lines require fast, repeatable tension audits to prevent tower deflection, cable sag, or anchor overload.

• 3-Second Clamp-On Tension Testing (Dillon Quick-Check "Red"): The Dillon Quick-Check Cable Tension Meter installs onto tensioned cables (3/16" to 1.0" / 4.75 to 25.4 mm), measures tension via an integrated load cell, and removes in under three seconds—storing up to 20 wire sizes and types in memory with a graphical Check-Tensioning mode. Select from the 2,000 lb Dillon AWT05-508112, the 10,000 lb Dillon AWT05-508111 (1 Wire Size Calibration), the 10,000 lb Dillon AWT05-508113, the 10,000 lb Dillon AWT05-508251 (Pre-Calibrated with 16 Calibrations), or the dedicated Dillon ZIP05-001 ZIP Line Quick-Check.
• Bluetooth Tower Guy-Wire Reporting with GPS & Timestamps (Dillon QC-T): Purpose-built for tower guy cables up to 10,000 lb, the Dillon Quick Check-T (QC-T) and Dillon Quick Check-T QC-T-TOWER transmit readings via Bluetooth to the included mobile app to generate exportable reports with GPS location, date, and time.

High-Capacity Structural Wire Ropes, Bridges, Cranes & Mooring Lines (Up to 26,500 lb – 40,000 lb):

Heavy structural wire ropes fixed between two points demand high-capacity load-cell tension meters with heavy-duty sheaves.

• Heavy Wire Rope Tensiometers: The Dillon TTXL Cable Tension Meter (26,500 lb / 120 kN / 12,000 kg) measures large-diameter utility lines, guy wires, and structural wire ropes in seconds without lookup tables. For custom multi-cable calibrations up to 40,000 lb, see the Tensitron WX-1 Digital Wire Rope Tension Meters.

Elevator Cables, Catenary Systems, Theater Rigging & Large Industrial Cables (Up to 3/4" Diameter):

Equalizing tension across multi-rope elevator hoisting systems, railway catenary lines, telecommunications cables, and theater rigging prevents uneven pulley wear and mechanical stress.

• Large Cable Digital Tensiometers: The Tensitron CX-1 Digital Cable Tension Meters—featuring the Tensitron CX-1000-1 (50–1,000 lb, up to 3/4" Cable Max) along with CX-250-1 (10–250 lb), CX-500-1 (20–500 lb), and CX-2000-1 (100–2,000 lb)—measure static and slowly moving round cables, wire ropes, and narrow bands up to 3/4" (19 mm) diameter.

Medium-Sized Flexible Wires, Cables, Filaments & Narrow Tapes (Up to 5/32" Diameter, 5–500 lb):

When testing flexible cables, wires, filaments, tapes, and ribbons under 5/32" (4 mm) in diameter, compact digital meters provide high-resolution readings in confined spaces.

• Medium Wire & Cable Digital Tensiometers: The Tensitron LX-1 Digital Tension Meters include three individual models: the Tensitron LX-250-1 (5–250 lb), the wide-access Tensitron LX-250-W-1 (5–250 lb), and the higher-capacity Tensitron LX-500-1 (25–500 lb).
