Ball bearing mounted cylindrical rollers, in lieu of flat anvil surfaces, make these dial micrometers ideal for measuring the diameter or thickness of slowly moving wire, filaments, foils, ribbon, narrow fabrics, etc. - without stopping the manufacturing process.
