    The Western Instruments W-SWFD Wet Fluorescent / Dry Method Kit is the inspector the ultimate in convenience for fast spot checks, or spending a couple of hours performing a critical Wet Fluorescent or Dry Method Inspection. This versatile Kit can be equipped with any model of our Yokes.

    The Flash Light style UV Light (Western’s SPR-365) uses state of the art LED technology to produce a high intensity Black Light, similar to old Ballasted Lamps. When equipped with our WC-9 Cordless Yoke this Kit gives the inspector the ultimate in versatility and convenience all in a single case.

    We offer Refills of 4 and 8 Aerosol Cans to keep the inspector’s supplies up. If testing Sandblasted surfaces, Cleaner/Remover may not be needed, so Aerosols can be just 8 Cans Wet Fluorescent Particle Bath, or all Dry Powder can be a single color. Single (1¾ Pound/800g) jars of Dry Powder are also available, or can be purchased separately in heavier containers

    Western Instruments Wet Visible Method

    • The Western Instruments Wet Visible Method particles have a mean particle size of 10 to 20 microns, so it is particularly good at detecting small cracks. This Wet Method Particle is most commonly Black. In order to highlight the very fine Black Particles, a White Lacquer Paint is used. We commonly refer to this method as Black on White.

    • The Western Instruments Dry Magnetic Dusting Powders primarily for use in our various forms of MPI Yoke Kits. Western offers 4 different colors (White/Grey, Blue/Black, Red, & Yellow) of powder, to ensure maximum contrast with the Workpiece. In North America Dry Powders are used extensively in less stringent applications, as it is very easy and fast to apply. In other areas of the Globe, Dry Method Inspection is simply not permitted, requiring the use of Wet Method Media.
