How to Use
- Preparation: Ensure the gauge probe and the measuring surface are clean and free of debris, grease, or loose scale
- Positioning: Place the flat base of the gauge firmly on the sound parent metal adjacent to the weld toe or pitted area
- Measurement: Carefully extend or lower the probe tip into the pit or undercut (or place it across the weld crown)
- Reading: Read the depth or height directly from the laser-engraved metric scale at the indicator edge, noting the 0.2 mm increments
- Recording: Log your measurements to determine if wear or discontinuities fall within allowable engineering tolerances
